If you’re an enthusiastic nature lover and keen gardener, there’s absolutely nothing that will thrill you more than the yearly blossom celebration kept in Girona in Catalonia, north-eastern Spain. Held over the whole 3rd week in May each year, this celebration celebrates the passing away of winter and the advent of springtime. Public buildings, homes, office-blocks and plazas are embellished with flowers in myriad colors. The blossom shows contrasted versus the remarkable old buildings of the Old Quarter produce an unforgettable sight, packed with dazzling shades and ranges of blossoms. Another gorgeous view is the Arab Baths embellished with flowers: the dim cloisters and bathrooms are covered with great smelling roses and lilies and offer magnificent representations in the water. Flower fountains and rivers of flowers streaming through the charming alleys make every turn you absorb Girona a remarkable shock.
